LA PLATA, Md. , — Emergency crews responded to an incident Friday, April 25, 2025, involving a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Hawthorne Drive and Magnolia Drive in La Plata.
The crash, which occurred just after 4:07 p.m., resulted in injuries to three female occupants. Upon arrival, rescue personnel found one elderly female semi-conscious and initially reported her as possibly trapped inside her vehicle. EMS personnel also evaluated the driver for potential stroke symptoms at the scene, prompting an urgent response from multiple units.
A rapid extrication operation was initiated by crews from La Plata Volunteer Fire Department and mutual aid partners. All three patients were ultimately stabilized and transported to Charles Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Their injuries were classified as non-life-threatening at the time of transport.
The incident prompted a swift and coordinated multi-agency response, with all efforts successfully concluding by early evening.
