LA PLATA, Md. — A resurfaced video from a YouTube page tied to a Charles County murder suspect is drawing widespread attention after showing the accused demonstrating how he can load and fire a handgun despite being a quadruple amputee.
Dayton James Webber, 27, of La Plata, was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on March 22, 2026. In the days following his arrest, a previously posted video began circulating online showing Webber handling and firing a handgun in an outdoor setting.
In the video, Webber is seated in a grassy field scattered with spent shell casings. Using one arm, he appears to force a magazine into the firearm while balancing it against his leg. He then positions the weapon between the end of one arm and the upper portion of the other, using pressure to manipulate the trigger.
The footage shows Webber successfully firing multiple rounds before briefly turning toward the camera and smiling, then continuing to discharge the weapon.
The video has gained traction as investigators continue to build their case following the fatal shooting earlier that night.
According to authorities, Webber is accused of shooting a passenger inside a vehicle during an argument. Witnesses told police they were in the back seat when the shooting occurred. Afterward, Webber allegedly pulled over and asked the witnesses to help remove the victim from the vehicle. They refused and left the scene.
The victim, Bradrick Michael Wells, 27, was later discovered in a yard in Charlotte Hall and pronounced dead.
Webber was located hours later in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was taken into custody at a hospital. He is expected to be extradited back to Maryland to face charges including first- and second-degree murder.
Investigators have not confirmed whether the video will be used as evidence in the case.
