MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — A pedestrian was injured Saturday night, Dec. 20, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle in Mechanicsville, prompting a medevac response.

The collision was reported shortly before 9 p.m. in the 27400 block of Thompson Corner Road. Emergency crews arrived to find the male victim suffering from a serious head injury, leading responders to request a Maryland State Police helicopter.

Trooper 2 later landed at Potomac Motor Speedway, where Engine 22 established and secured the landing zone. The patient was airlifted to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the striking vehicle reportedly remained on the scene and was uninjured.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
